MATERIALS NEEDED

  • background fabrics - six light colored scraps approximately 10” X 9” plus one 6” X 16”.
  • machine embroidery thread for wheels - I used 40 wt black • thread to coordinate with fabrics for applique
  • lightweight fusible like Misty Fuse
  • Freezer Paper - either quilting or kitchen variety
  • Heat Resistant Sheet or Parchment Paper
  • Fabric scraps for car - largest is 10” X 4”. Choose two colors for the car body and wheel covers. one or two fabrics for roof and fin, one for windows and two for bumpers, headlight and taillight.
  • thread to coordinate with fabrics for applique

EQUIPMENT AND STANDARD SEWING SUPPLIES

  • sewing machine with embroidery, small hoop and embroidery foot embroidery module
  • needle (I like to start each project with a new needle)
  • rotary cutter, ruler and mat
  • scissors
  • pins
  • chalk marker or other fabric marker
