Explore a variety of art quilting techniques and materials while creating a landscape quilt. Use shaving cream to transfer dyes and inks to PDF (prepared for dying) fabrics to design your own background. Use free-motion quilting to generate the feel of nature before adding texture and depth by couching fibers to the surface. Adapt one or all of these techniques for your next project.

This project can also be completed using a longarm.

STUDENT'S NEED TO BRING
• Fine quilting thread 60 to 100 weight - dark green, light blue & light green
• Sewing Machine with Free Motion Capability
• Closed Free Motion Quilting Foot (such as BERNINA #26)
• Don’t forget to pack your foot pedal and cord
• Scissors for snipping thread
• Optional - Quilting Gloves, Safety Pins, Misty Fuse
• Silicon Ironing Sheet or Parchment Paper
• Narrow Quilting Ruler - 12 to 18 inches
